act/on Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
act/on (the "App" or "Service") is developed by Saint Oracle LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any personal information you provide to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the act/on app.
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: When you sign up via our authentication service, we collect your email address. If you do not authenticate (sign in), your data is not sent to our servers.
- Content Data: If you sign in and have an active paid subscription, any content data entered into the app is synced to our servers, and is available on any devices that you sign in with. This includes Lists, Sections, and Items you create within the App, and any associated settings, notes, and metadata.
2.2. Automatically Collected Information
- Usage Data: Device type, operating system version, app usage logs, and crash reports collected for diagnostics and improvement.
- Analytics Data: Non-identifiable metrics such as feature usage and sync frequency.
2.3. Locally-First Storage
All data you create is stored locally on your device. You retain full control over your data; this data is accessible to anyone that has access to the act/on app on your device. When act/on is accessed via a web browser, your Content is not saved locally. No data, including anything entered in the app, usage, or analytics, is sent to our servers unless you decide to connect an account with an active paid subscription to enable sync, though app store providers may still share usage crash reports and other similar reports with us.
2.4. Optional Cloud Sync (Paid Feature)
When signing in with your account and an active paid subscription, your data is synced to a secured cloud service to enable multi-device access and backups. Synced data includes the same types collected locally (account and content data). Note: Cloud sync functionality requires a paid subscription to act/on.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To Provide and Maintain the Service: Authenticate users, store and retrieve your content.
- To Sync Across Devices: When enabled with a paid subscription, sync data securely to the cloud so you can access your content from multiple devices.
- To Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to enhance functionality and user experience.
- To Communicate With You: Send important updates about the Service (if you've provided contact information).
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share your information only in these circumstances:
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly agree to share.
- Service Providers: Third-party services that help operate the App. These include Google Firebase services for database hosting, cloud storage, and authentication.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
6. Your Rights
- Access and Portability: Request a copy of your data.
- Correction: Update inaccurate information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data. Learn how to delete your account
- Opt-Out: Disable sync to keep data only on your device. To do this, you can sign out of your account on the Account page within the app, or simply use the app without a paid subscription.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date.
